Do additional credentials/Certifications provide an edge? Specifically, I am a CPA, CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), and have completed Level 1 of the CFA exam (I do not plan on applying to schools until I have completed level 2). Will these extras give me a boost when applying to Kellogg, NYU, HBS, Columbia, etc. ?

In my opinion, it will definitely have more weight although the weight can be more at more heavily weighted quant schools such as NYU, Wharton or Chicago. The HBS/Stanford/Columbia do care but just not as much... Academic scores and work experience/leadership is more important to them.

Yes, particularly if your GPA is less than stellar.

Good luck!
