Adequate Work Experience? [#permalink] New post 02 Sep 2011, 11:05
Hi Conrad,

I'm currently trying to decide between applying to business schools next year or the year after. I would prefer to apply next year, however, and was wondering if you think 45 months of WE upon matriculation (age 27) is sufficient to not raise any sort of flags? I'm looking to completely switch industries so I don't feel an extra year would give me any more relevant experience however I would be able to take on further responsibility if I stuck around (although it would not be "game-changing"). Your advice is much appreciated!

Thanks! :-D

Hi beehagit,

There are a lot of factors when considering which year to apply to (and without knowing more about your background it is difficult to give a yes/no answer.) However, 45 months of experience will not raise any flags. Business schools vary on the number of years of work experience that they look for, but they like to see at least 2 years. This is 2 years of post-graduate work experience (internships during school are typically not considered.)

Hope this was of help.

Cheers,

Conrad and the Stacy Blackman Team
