Do most schools have admit weekends? Do we know what the dates of the admit weekends (for R1 and R2) are for the Top 7 schools? I did a search and did not find anything. Just wondering for those of us who are planning long travel but want to make sure not to miss admit weekends IF (and that's a big if) they get accepted. Maybe we can put together a list..For instance I know of the following: Booth R1 - Feb 11-12 Booth R2 - Apr 8-9 Duke - April 15-17 Haas R1 - Mar 3-5 HBS R1 - Feb 24-25 Kellogg R1 - Feb 11-12 Ross R1 - Apr 7-9 Stanford R2 - May 1-2 UVA Darden R1 - Feb 4th UVA Darden R2 - April 15-16 Wharton R1 - Feb 4-5 Wharton R2 - April 15-16

Kinda related question -- is it appropriate to bring family to admit weekends, or do most people only bring along significant others?

Why not, if you invest $140K in sth, you have the right to bring an extra pair of eyes for assessment. My younger sis considers Bschools and asked to come along to some info events. Most folks bring their partners to admit weekends and there are events for partners or families with kids. It looks that Bschools big on teamwork, collaborative learning located in small towns embrace family members more (Tuck, Ross, Kellogg)

They can't attend every single event with you, but usually significant others of various admitted students hang out together during your visit (and later on if you do decide to enroll, your significant other will have friends even before you begin school) Parents? I guess why not but that's less common. Plus, if your parents are anything like my parents, I wouldn't bring them along. They can get quite embarrassing.

OK good points. I was just hoping to have some company for the trip over and some extra decision-making support, but maybe I'll ask a family member to meet me at the end and stay a day after the admit weekend. For those who've attended these events already, do people ever bring a parent or sibling or have you only seen partners?

Reason: Shared long distance driving and emotional support. Interestingly, at open events my sis got more encouragement to apply for Bschool cos she attended a higher ranked college and is more corporate. Some admit weekends take place at the same dates and people with dual/multiple admits have the decide.

I know UVA Darden has two of them. February 4th and April 15th/16th. The one in February is smaller in size, only because the admitted students are consisted of only the round 1 applicants. The weekend in April (15th and 16th) is much larger in terms of attendance, but only because it will then consist of most of the admits from both round 1 and 2.

Pretty sure columbia is on the same date as booth round 2. It's interesting that wharton is on a different date. My guess is they know that a lot of finance folks are deciding between booth and wharton.
