Age and PhD Programs in Accounting [#permalink]
06 Apr 2010, 23:14
I am 58 and have 30 years of experience as a practicing CPA. I'm also a CFE, and have BBA and MS degrees in accounting. In December 2010 I am graduating with a MS in digital forensics. I plan on applying for admission to a PhD program in accounting for admission in fall 2011. I want to concentrate in auditing. I have 35 years of accounting experience in total, and I have some teaching experience at the junior college level and as a lecturer for CPE programs.
What universities are noted for working well with PhD candidates that have substantial experience, and what universities are willing to hire 64 year old assistant professors?
I'm not slowing down. I'm just kicking butt on my childrens' generation now.

I'm wondering whether you were accepted in one of the PhD program. I'm asking because I face relatively the same problem now: being relatively old. Thanks
