Hello all, I was just wondering, how do decision makers (adcoms?) and potential employers know how old you are when you start school or a new job? How do they determine if someone is too old? This has been bugging me.

I remember putting in my birthdate on the application forms so that's how adcom knows your age. Not sure about employers. I would probably guess as part of the background check.

Ok, thanks for that bit of information Yellowjacket. That is not good news for me as I was hoping they would look at year of undergraduate graduation. I am 31 now and plan to apply/matriculate when I am 33 as a career changer. I am hoping that my age does not have a negative effect on my candidacy.
