Greetings,

I'm new to GMAT club, and I have to say this site really is awesome! I've posted my profile in Ask Hjort, but I realize the more opinions the better, so if I could take a minute of your time...

Profile:
27 year old, Asian male
BS in Commerce and Econ from the University of Virginia – GPA 3.0/4.0
GMAT: taken once, 760 (51M, 41V)
Work experience: 4 years, as a defense contractor doing government budgeting for the Department of Defense. Fairly typical 9-to-5 job, I can make my job sound impressive and I will surely do so in my application essays, but it really is rather mundane and I don’t want to bore you with the details.
Community: Private math tutor, math and English tutor at a cram school, ESL tutor at an immigrant center (I was paid for the first two, not sure if that counts as “community serviceâ€

You should be competitive at those schools. The GMAT helps quite a bit. And you have good reasons for "why now". The tutoring is a nice add and if you make your job sound better than the 9-5 thing then you should be in good shape. I'd recommend staying away from going with the staid "I want to be a mgmt consultant in your app." Way too over played. Also you may not want to discuss your second hobby in your app.
