Ask Wharton Admission [#permalink]
10 Aug 2012, 01:23
Due to Visa delay, I can't make the pre-term week starting in 12 August in Wharton. The MBA office told me that this week is obligatory to attend. It seems that the solution would be either I won't go to Wharton or it will be delayed for a year. Neither of the solution is acceptable to me. I checked the pre-term schedule and found out that it was mainly getting to know each other, dealing with student life issues such as insurance, bank etc. I would like to ask why is it so important that Wharton rejected a candidate just because I can not attend the first week? Is there anyone who encountered similar issue before? Is there any by-pass solution to it? Is there anyone who I can ask for help in Wharton mba office except the one who told me it was not possible?
I can go to US without a visa but only as a traveler. As a student, it is strictly forbidden. I wonder in this case, can I go there as a traveler for the first week and then return to my own country for student visa?
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
In case I get an admission offer, how much will I have to respond and confirm my matriculation? Is there a deposit I have to make? What's the process?
Thanks in advance.
