Choose between the thousands of publicly traded stocks and bonds and diversify your holdings

Had stocks and bonds stood for a SINGLE ENTITY then among would have been fine. Because then, the choice would have been AMONG a number of items belonging to a CERTAIN ENTITY

choose AMONG the thousands of publicly traded stocks and bonds and diversify your holdings

However, since stocks and bonds are separate entities, the choice is BETWEEN thousands of items of stocks AND thousands of items of bonds

Choose BETWEEN X (thousands of public traded) stocks AND bonds and diversify our holdings.
