another congrats river! I only wish my three R1 schools announced decisions that early (so I don't have to do any R2 schools)... Oh Kellogg, now I have to think about my application again...

I was so shocked when I learned they were releasing acceptances. Multiply that shock by a million and that was me holding the phone as I found out I got accepted.
My recommendation next year to all people considering Kellogg is to apply R1 so you might not have to worry about R2 applications.

I totally agree, river. If only I had known they would release it THIS early, I would have killed myself to complete my Kellogg application R1 instead of R2. Oh man, hindsight is 20/20...

God put eyes in front of our heads so we never look back.
I have had the same feeling you have so many times, the best thing to do is to not dwell on it and move forward like clockwork.

thanks for the support TSD! Yeah, I think right after my vacation it's very hard to motivate myself to write another set of 5 essays for Kellogg. But will try to push on!

Kellogg's are probably the most daunting time wise. I completely understand why its recommended as the first application one should complete if you are applying there. MIT's questions were tough but I could use some ideas from Kellogg and really build off of them. I picked one of the Kellogg essays because it overlapped with an MIT essay.
I started on them right when they came out and went through dozens of versions and ideas. Chicago and MIT were a cake walk after those...then again the first set is supposed to always be the hardest and supposedly worst essays you write.

Considering Kellogg was your first app, I'm SURE you'll get into GSB and MIT!
I'm not in too bad of a position, as Berkeley/UCLA/Stanford combined answers most parts of Kellogg's essays. I just have to take ideas from my other schools and try to fit them coherently to answer Kellogg's specific questions.
I'm glad I got most of my schools out of the way in R1, because now I have to look into financial aid stuff, interview prep, and Kellogg application... it's tough applying in R2!

It looks like the master list needs to be updated. GMATforFal08 was admitted to Emory today. The first Emory admit of the season. Congrats.

Hmm..I don't think so. Is that list only for those with a profile? I guess its most helpful if he/she? does. Maybe we can convince him/her to put up a profile.

It doesn't seem like he wants his stats published. To each their own. But, he still deserves recognition for an admit, but that's just my opinion.

I just made this so we can keep track of names, regardless of stats.

Great idea, river!
maybe the next step would be posting a link with an expanded profile next to the name of the admitted student... that's a stretch though as a lot of posters here don't have a comprehensive profile posted in the corresponding forum (including me )

Come get on that...I think it should be required of all moderators. That way people know who we are beyond the people that erase all their posts cough Kryzak cough.
