Courses? [#permalink] New post 12 Jun 2005, 20:05
Hi there,

I'm somewhat new to the GMAT prep game (by that I mean that I started studying a few months ago and fizzled out thanks to my lack of discipline and time). That being said, can anyone suggest a good course that I can take? I'm a little wary of Kaplan and Princeton Review...

I just read about Veritas, which sounds interesting. Has anybody heard of it or taken one of their courses?

Any/all thoughts are welcome.

Thanks!

You might want to check out GMAX Online. There's a review done by Praetorian, and the feedback suggests the course is very good. This was the general consensus with some other members who signed up with GMAX Online. You can read the reviews and their comments in this forum, and if you have any questions, you could pop them an PM for your queries.

Yes, i definitely recommend GMAX Online. As for the other courses, its really tough to make a objective decision since everyone looks for different things.

One thing i try to do in my reviews is to define a target audience. This helps the customer to decide if the product is the best for them or not.

I am a big fan of online learning as it helps one to learn at their own pace.
You can stop and refocus, rewind or fast forward through a lesson. That helps you to focus on the stuff that you really need. Plus, you can work through the lessons when you are at your best concentration level. In a regular course, the timings are very structured so that you have sit through a class even if you dont exactly feel like it.

Read through my review and watch the sample lessons. that should give you more than enough idea of whether you should take the GMAX course or not.

thanks

Yes, that is one of the good things abuot e-learning. You could learn at your own pace, and at any time convenient to you. The e-learning platform also allows you to review/re-watch the entire video. For the case of GMAX Online, it's three times. For MGMAT, it's any number of times up to 3 months from your last class. That's the flexibility you could not get attending a live-class, unless your lecturer repeats whatever he/she just taught, or you manage to sneak a camcorder to class and record the whole session

But the ultimate decision lies with you. You could go around and exchange information with other members or people out of this club, and then make your decision.

Good luck ! :-D
