I'm not 100% sure about what your question is. If you're asking if it's reasonable to write about these things, I say that it is. You're much better of writing about a passion of yours than simply writing what you think the adcomms want to read. Just explain what you would do with that time, and why
that's the case.
If you're asking about how much is too much, I recommend keeping it focused. In this particular essay, if you want to write about your hobbies/passions, keep it focused on just one or two things. Don't throw too many things at the adcomms at once.
