Difficulty in Comprehension & Critical reasoning [#permalink] New post 29 Apr 2003, 01:14
Hi,

I have a difficulty in Comprehension & Critical reasoning.
Apart from studying repeatedly in both areas, are they any
ways to improve my weak areas?

Thanks.

Guess this friend, tzec76, we are in the same boat.
Now, I have been studying my GMAT test; however, I still don't improve in my weakness, CR & RC( due to I'm Taiwan, not native English).
Verbal section makes me very disheartened and frusrated.
I really hope some efficient approach to promote my verbal ability.

BB and Club friends,

Thanks for hosting the site.

The answers to the questions I have asked
have been found in so many of your replies
in this forum. There are many insights to
GMAT preparation and the scoring information,
and I would not possibly know them if I
did not accidentally come across this website
yesterday.

Below is something I would like to share
and that is what I quoted from you or Kaplan
strategy for RC.

1)Pay attention to the first paragraph
2)Topic sentences are important, and the last sentence of a paragraph is too
3)PARAPHRASE - stop after each paragraph to sum up
4)Constantly ask yourself what you have read - active reading
5)Stop at the end to summurize the whole thing

I have similar experiences where I spent time a lot of time
studying with little results. I realised that I did not have
a good strategy.

Currently, I am using 3 book strategy as well,
but it was just coincidental. Barrons, GMAT OG, GRE OG.

I have not taken my scores yet, although it was PP: 630
a year ago.

Thanks pal. Keep going, everyone.

READ READ READ.

Get a bunch of books and read either in the subway if you live in Chicago/NY or before you go to bed or at other places - get used to a few hours of reading in a row.
