pardon my ignorance please
what is the electronic signature that is required by various B Schools(insead,stanford) as part of the doctorate applications.

They ask you to sign your name online (like literally type your name in a box and date it). It's taken as the equivalent of an actual signature certifying that you're abiding by their rules and so on.
