Eligibility Question [#permalink] New post 01 Aug 2007, 21:39
Hi Experts,

I would like to take GMAT exam for the first time for 2008 Classes. I am an International(Non-English) candidate. I am a Computer Science Post-Graduate and it's medium of instruction is english. I also have 5 Yrs of experience in US.
My question is, "Do I Need to take TOEFL exam" for eligibility into MBA program?

mygcluck,

It depends on which country your under gradute school was. For instance I live in Australia and studied in New Zealand, these are both English speaking countries and hence I do not need to take the TOEFL. However I do know that most people from non English speaking countries DO need to take it, regardless of how long they have worked in an english speaking country.

Good luck.

Are you sure about that? I thought if your medium of instruction was English you could get TOEFL waived. I did my MS from the US, and was under the impression that I dont need TOEFL? Anyone else confirm this?

Thanks!

I think bsd_lover is right about that.

Most schools will require you to take it if your undergrad was not primarily in English.

If you are a U.S. permanent resident or a U.S. citizen, check with the schools - that might get you off the hook.

IMHO, if you can beat the GMAT the TOELF should be a "walk in the park"

Oh, my medium of instruction in UG was in English (IIT, a pretty popular school). Oh well, need to find out from the schools about it then.

Hi bsd_lover,
I did my Post-Graduation from India and the medium of instruction is English. Do I still need to take TOEFL?
