Gil,
I'm an engineer considering business school and I have no idea which schools I should be targeting.
26 y/o male GMAT 740 Q49 V44 GPA 3.47 from an SEC East school (U. of Tennessee, U. of Florida, U. of South Carolina, U. of Georgia, U. of Kentucky) B.S. Chemical Engineering (graduated with honors from the honors college)
Work Experience: -3 years with world leader in nuclear power as a design/field engineer (Selected to participate in 3yr rotational leadership development program) -1 yr during college at a nylon manufacturing plant owned by Koch Industries Inc
Extracurriculars/Community Involvement: -Volunteered in ER/OR of hospital in college 10hrs/wk -Captain intramural sports teams in college -Co-founded clean energy blog -Co-founded chapter of North American Young Generation in Nuclear
Goals: Post-MBA consulting with a focus on energy sector Long term move into an executive leadership role within an energy company
Do I have a chance at Harvard/Wharton or should I be thinking more Fuqua/Darden? I'm not overly familiar with Ivy admissions but from what I understand they aren't big on state school applicants. Does coming from an honors college help me at all? Thanks for your help!
