Scott,

On questions that ask multiple things is it advisable to answer them in order? For example, Duke's career goal essay begins by asking about career progression. Is it taboo to start with career goals?

It's definitely not necessary to answer them in order. If you can tell a better story by tellnig them in a different order, and as long as it's still clear, then you should be fine.
