Fellowship essay

Hello!
I`m writing an essay to be considered for the school`s merit fellowship. This essay is related to 2 key thiings:
- why you think you should be considered for a Fellowship;
- how receiving a Fellowship will impact your ability to give back to the school`s community.
First question is very easy; it matches with some aspects of admission essays, that I already wrote. But thу second question confuses me... What should I write here about?
I can barely find a relationship between the receiving fellowship and my "ability to give back...", mainly since I gonna do my very best anyways.
Basic idea, that I have - if you give me money, I will have to borrow less and I will think less about my financial burden, thus concentrating more on study... But it is not too impressive for me.
I have also been admitted by several other school and I`m not sure whether I should mention this fact or not.
So, do you have any ideas how to make my essay more persuasive, and what particular things should I emphasize?
Thanks and regards!
