Foreign Language LOR [#permalink] New post 08 Sep 2010, 18:07
I've been working in rural Japan under the Japan Exchange Teaching Programme for the last three years and want to get a letter from my top boss in the local government here. I have a few concerns though.

- No English. How do schools feel about translated letters? Should I include the original letter paper-clipped to the translation?

- Writer is not familiar with the western LOR "style". Should I try coaching or just collect a natural letter even if it is written in a Japanese style? I'm asking because coaching could backfire on me. You just don't do that to someone 40 years your senior in Japan.

- Writer has no experience in business. Will this hurt my application?
