Good GM programs/companies [#permalink] New post 25 Nov 2011, 22:29
Folks,
I'm about to start the recruiting season at a US b-school and trying to put together a target list for general mgmt firms. I'm keen to join a firm that has offers good opportunity, independence and rapid career progression. In terms of industry, I'm pretty agnostic though if forced, I would lean towards tech, telco and CPG. Most of all, I'm keen to hit the ground running. Have you come across any interesting GM programs?

The GE program looks interesting, though they dont offer US visa sponsorship for internationals (like me)

Thanks...

I bet you are working on your career goals for your essays!!! Otherwise, the school would help. Unfortunately I don't know many

It's true that internationals face an uphill battle when it comes to finding employers that hire internationals (and sponsor them later on). Usually, you will have better luck with multi-national firms with structured programs (like Colgate Palmolive, and other CPG firms). These companies tend to hire employees from one region and rotate them throughout the country (by sending them to different countries). Eventually, "star" employees end up in corporate HQ. So these companies will openly hire international students.

Have you tried looking at Proctor & Gamble? I think I remember seeing something about one on their website...
