I believe access to the essay vault is pretty tight right now. I wont give a number but I am betting its well into the hundreds or having tons of Kudos. People are beginning to offer to share (there are essays for a bunch of schools) but even once you get in I know most folks willing to share have specific requirements before they share them with. So once you have access its still up to the individual contributor whether they will send you an essay or not...

Just curious why 400 posts. Seems excessive don't you?

It's a bit ironic, b/c the people who need it most will probably not have that many posts. The only exception will be the people who actively participated during their gmat prep phase.

I am not sure if looking at others essays would be of as much help to me. I would really like if some of the admitted students can critique my essays. I think that would provide more value to me. I must admit that quite a few admitted students have been helpful in providing feedback to me.

Praet set the 400 limit to make sure the people have been here for a while and hopefully contributed to the GMAT Prep phase or helped their fellow GMATClubbers out with the applications.

as for the essays, it's just one way to give people an idea of what successful essays look like. Of course, many of the 2007 and 2008 applicants will be around to help, but most of us also have an "internal" rule regarding how much you've contributed to the forum. So a memorable avatar helps!

Kudos indicate contribution more than number of posts, no?

This will benefit future applicants greatly. I can not wait for the year I get to apply and apply what all that I have learned here on GMATClub.

Also I need to reach 400 post...at my rate it will take a whole lot longer

Hi kryzak and nervousgmat

I have created a admitted student essays forum. Only a few members currently have access. Let me know if you have been admitted and are interested in sharing your essays. I will enable access for you.

Some tips:

a) Post the document as a password protected PDF file.
b) Remove all personal information and as many proper nouns as possible.

If you are an 09 applicant, you will need 400 quality posts to have access to the forum. If you do this right, this will take you about 3 or more months -- long enough for us to know that you are legit.

thanks.

Hi Paret/Kryzak,

Would you be so kind to grant me the access to this forum. I have requested this multiple times. If there is a new requirement for the access please let me know... I am planing to apply for this season and would love to learn and help by contributing my essay, at the end of the season.

thanks!
