Hi all,

I'm applying to the HBS 2+2 program and wanted to know what you think my chances are.

Top 10 undergraduate business program; 3.7 GPA
GMAT 690 Q-49, V-35
1st generation college, asian male

Internship experience:
1-Finance/Accounting analyst Fortune 50 Healthcare company
2-Business Analyst Fortune 10 Retail company
3-Business Analyst Fortune 50 CPG company
4-Private Banking Analyst Top BB I-Bank

Volunteer Experience: 2 year humanitarian leave in Asia, learned to fluently speak, read, and write the language

Extracurricular: lots of school clubs, and community volunteering

Work: Accepted full-time BB Investment Bank

I'm just a little worried that my GMAT score is a little low in comparison to the average. Thoughts?

i will say yes that you do need to improve upon your GMAT unless you have a compelling story on why you struggled to score above 700-720.

i think the internship experience and the fact that you got a job in a very competitive industry speaks a lot about you. however, you need to dig deep into these experiences and tell few WOW stories.

if you have difficulties, don't feel bad about reaching out to consultants, there are many who frequent these forums.

HBS 2+2 is designed for non business undergrad majors, they do offer ~10-15% of the 100 spots to business undergrad but they also make up quite a large portion of the applicants. The median gmat for Harvard as a whole is ~720 and I assume for the 2+2 folks its as high as 730.

I would work at the BB for 2-3 years and apply regular decision, keep working on the extra curriculars and retake the GMAT if possible.

You will be around the same age or a year older than you would have been if you had gotten into the 2+2 so its not all bad.
