Can someone in the US help me with my problem?
I have korean windows and the kaplan cd gives korean characters for some of the mathematical signs and alphabets. I contacted Encore Software, the company which handles the problems of kaplan software..they asked me call up on their toll free number in the US. i tried calling them here (I am in Korea), but could not connect........
if someone of u can call them up and ask what is the problem i would be very thankful......please find my email to encore software in red........and their reply in blue.......thanks again
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have bought a Kaplan CD-Rom, "Higher Score on the GMAT", ID no. 126201-04, Win v4.0. I have a Pentium Celeron, 128 MB RAM, Rage Fury Pro/Xpert 2000 Pro video card and Windows 98, Korean version. I have no problem with the graphics and the sound.
I am having a problem with the fonts. I can see Korean characters in place of some of the mathematical signs and I also see Korean characters in place of some english characters. So I cannot fully understand the explanations and the questions. I would appreciate a quick response, as I am planning to take the GMAT in some time now.
As far as I understand, it seems to be a font problem, maybe some font has not been installed on my PC. For your reference I am listing below the fonts that are installed in my PC, in the c:\windows\fonts directory.

They work Mon-Fri 8-5, not 12
so, you will have to wait till monday.

About this issue, it seems to appear this trouble in asia version of window. I also have the same trouble on kaplan's CD-ROM.
My OS is taiwan version of window.
I hope to obtain resolution to tackle it if bb can post the answer after communicating with kaplan.

Hm...
I waited for 20 mins on the phone and could not wait longer, so I did not get to talk to them any.
I will call on Tuesday from "work" while "working" hang on a bit more.

Have you tried the suggestions we had? Changing the regional settings?
I called them and they said they don't support or tested anythingt other than English system. I left my number, but I doubt they will call me back even if they figure something out.
Can you install English Windows? borrow a copy, etc? like win 2000 - in that case you can two systems running independently.

surprisingly powerprep CD has no problems.......so atleast I can take those 2 official tests peacefully

(let me know if you decide to do this, I will send you directions).
Otherwise, whatever works! Go for it.
