Thanks a lot prat for taking the time to reply to my post!!
I always seem to run out of time. Usually I have 3-4 questions left at the end. I think it is because I dont like giving up on any problem. I almost always create equations too, rather than look for shortcuts.
Do you have any suggestions on how I can improve my timing?? Should I just set a limit of 2 mins for each question when I practise and take tests?
I assume you are asking about quant timing.
We all work out slow and then pick up momentum gradually. i recommend you do the same here.
Beginning : Set a time limit of 2.5 mins per question.
( remember , at the beginning , you are studying, not practising)
After 100-150 problems , set a time limit of 2.0 minutes per question
After 200 problems, set a time of 1.5 minutes per question. IMO, this reduced time might help take simulate the stress that you will be in on test day
Whatever you do, never ever forget that the objective of practise is to eliminate errors and to check your self on timing. please do both together.
I hope this works for you. This is close to what i did for my prep, but obviously , what works for me may not work for you.
