Is there an algebraic way to solve the following:

|x|! = |x|

I can only do it by inspection and realizing that 1,-1,2,-2 work
Can someone walk me thru the algebraic steps if there are any any?

Also, what are the algebraic steps for

||x| - 1| = 1

The | | represent absolute values. (I got these problems from someone elses posts in this board).

divide both parts by |x|

||x| - 1| = 1
square both parts of let z=|x|
