Identify weak areas [#permalink]
25 May 2012, 22:58
Friends, how did you identify your weak areas, it may be a stupid question but i see it as a major stumble on my way to success. sometime i do good at a particular concept (say weaken questions in CR) in a prep test and then in another test i fail to do good at same concept. So, i don't really know whether it is my weak section. And it happens with most of my sections. can you help me to deduce what does it mean...

The most accurate way to judge your strengths and weaknesses would be to take practice tests .
Have you taken any practice tests yet ?
Generally if you take 2-3 practice tests , you should get a good idea of where you stand . The GMAT prep tests are the most accurate indicator .

few days back i took master the gmat practice test and scored 670-690. I was disappointed because my last GMAT score was 680 and i think i have improved since then. The mistakes that i made were very silly such as i missed to identify "since" in SC or took 3 minutes in weaken CR ques. I tried to practice 700+ weaken CR from GMAT Club. I got many of them correct and in another test also i got weaken CR ques CORRECT.. so i failing to identify whether weaken CR is really my weak area which i need to improve. Also its not about weaken CR alone , i face similar issue in many areas - some day i preform well at one concept and some other day i fail to replicate same performance for same concept
One such instance happened today as well, i was solving a DS ques and marked it wrong. I took a break and when i came back, before reviewing the answer, i tried same ques once more and i solved in less than 1 min. I am getting confused why is it happening to me
