Kellogg Interview Done with [#permalink]
20 Nov 2006, 18:53
Well finally had the Kellogg interview this evening. Went average I'd say, which is prob not a good thing for my app
Anyways, met at a Borders. Interview lasted 1hr 20 mins, it was a very tough interview I would say. A lot of Why? What do you mean? abrupt type questions and it didn't help that he was in Mgmt Consulting and thats what I want to do post MBA.
His last question was the worst. It was simple enough - List the top 3 bullet points on why Kellogg should admit you. Well, the way the interview was going thus far, I knew that my standard responses would have been cut short by him, so I was trying to come up with things on the top of my head and it just was painfully long. Ugh.
Oh well, at least its done with!
Old Post:
Seriously, this is getting weird and crazy. This is my Kellogg interview history:
1) First interview with Alum A - Postponed. Ok thats fine, he told me a day in advance.
2) Second interview with Alum A - He never shows up and does not return my calls. Okkkk, a bit strange, but hey things happen.
So I call Kellogg and get another Alum. They do apologize and say "this is a first"
3) Third interview with Alum B (Today, 1.5 hr ago) - HE DOESN'T SHOW UP. I called his cell/work, left messages, nothing. I even asked someone at the bookstore to use her computer so I could check if he sent a last minute e-mail. Nothing.
I am sending Alum B an e-mail now. Lets see if he at least responds.

Haha, you would think. Lets see, still no word from him.
Man, this feels like Deja Vu.

How is your profile like?
What type of test is this by ignoring people? It would piss me off. Any future business leader needs to take action. So if I were you, I would take some action. Not that I know what action to take.

Haha, well I don't think this guarantees me admission nor is it a test. I mean who has the time to mess around.
My profile: M/26/5 years WE/740.
Will wait to hear back from him today, if not I am going to call the office again and let them know my displeasure.

Ok, well he just e-mailed. He apologized profusely and said he simply forgot after a busy day of work. He wants to schedule next week.
What do you think guys? Should I let him off the hook?

What I find useful in these situations is to send a reminder the day before the scheduled interview. I have followed this practice and have yet to encounter someone who stood me up. Usually, people will cancel if they can't make it.
Make sure you send an email/phone call reminder to your interviewer the day before the interview.
