This stat tracking idea has been brought up before numerous times. Whereas for law-school, GPA and LSAT are the main factors (reason why you can draw a \ line across the admits and dings), for b-school GPA and GMAT are only part of the picture (not even the primary part). Admissions411 has self reported GPA and GMAT if you want to take a look. But the numbers are all over the place. If you look through the admit/ding section, you can get an idea of how arbitrary b-school admission is. People often get in top 5 (sometimes w/ $) and get dinged/WLed at top 15/20. Some people get in with sub-700 and average GPA, while others get dinged with 750+ and 3.8+ to the same school.

Great point! Would probably need a 3D graph for b-school admissions (WE axis?). I still think there would be some value to the GPA/GMAT system but definitely not as much as law school at all. I think the accepted/waitlisted/rejected system on that board where users state where they have applied and their admissions results is really amazing so that mods don't have to update threads...etc.

Thank you very much for pisting this suggestion. I am happy to try building something like that and sponsor this initiative. However, as mentioned, this has been tried a few times before and things such as school fit, quality of essays and quality of work experience often have a greater weight than GPA or GMAT in top schools. I would be thrilled to try this concept as long as we can address the qualitative factors. Posted from my mobile device

I think devising this system would be amazing for the tracking of schools applied to and matriculating purposes for sure. Users could click on each school and see which users applied and where they are going...etc. In addition, a simple GPA/GMAT chart could give users ONE level of analysis and there could be a *NOTE that mentions how the essays, EC's, WE...etc are extremely important for b-school and the GPA/GMAT chart is really not all inclusive. I'm pretty sure someone out there is going to try and build a similar system for business schools and I think with the wealth of information on this site, there is no reason why it shouldn't be the gmatclub bb wrote: Thank you very much for pisting this suggestion. I absolutely agree that something like this makes sense though it is not an easy nut to crack.... I can tell that I won't be able to jump on this right away but definitely something that will make sense sooner or later. Thank you - Kudos for your thoughts and input.

You may look into contacting lawschoolnumbers.com and asking them about leasing their software platform for a business school version and sharing the advertising revenues or something like that? You are welcome! Love this forum as it has been extremely helpful. bb wrote: cyrez8 wrote: I'm pretty sure someone out there is going to try and build a similar system for business schools and I think with the wealth of information on this site, there is no reason why it shouldn't be the gmatclub No doubt - as mentioned a few sites/people tried already.
