Is the average of a set of 5 distinct positive integers {a,b, 4, 6, 2} greater than the median?

1.the highest number in the set is 6
2. the lowest number in the set is 2

OA is C - however I think it is E.

To make matters more confusing the official answer says this

Statements (1) and (2) combined are insufficient.

The correct answer is C.

It should be C:

1. A & B could be either 1 or 3 or 5. Insuff.
2. A > 2 & B > 2. It could be 10, 20, 100....who knows. Insuff.

Combined: Either a = 3 & b = 5 OR, a = 5 & b = 3. Suff.
