Is XY > X/Y

1. 0<Y<1

2. XY>1

OA
[Reveal] Spoiler:
C

My Answer, which I cant understand to be wrong
[Reveal] Spoiler:
A. XY>X/Y can be converted to Y^2>1. Statement 1 tells us that Y is a fraction and a fraction squared can never be greater than 1 (Y^2>1), so I concluded the answer "No", marking A as the correct answer. Can anybody explain what I did wrong?

XY>X/Y cannot be converted to Y^2>1. In an inequality, unless you know the sign -- in this case, of x, you cannot cancel the x on both sides.

In this case: if x>0
Y^2 > 1.

But if, x<0
then, Y^2 < 1.
