Manhattan GMAT books [#permalink] New post 24 Aug 2004, 15:02
Can anyone who have access to the Manhattan GMAT books comment on whether they are worth spending the money. I am specifically interested in the note that says "A special chapter provides specific strategies for attacking GMAT Data Sufficiency Problems that involve the use of Number Properties, Geometry, Probablity,..." I just wanted to get a feeling about how effective/good they are.

Manhattan GMAT Strategy Guides [#permalink] New post 27 Aug 2004, 09:29
The Manhattan GMAT (MG) Strategy Guides are great. I took the 9 week class through MG and have been using the strategy guides to prepare for the actual test. I have a Kaplan book as well has a Princeton Review book. The MG books are by far the best.

Data Sufficiency is discussed a little in each mathematics strategy guide. MG provides both a strategy for attacking these problems, as well as the fundamentals to solve them.

The MGMAT books are very good. IMO, their math books are much better than their verbal. I think their number properties section was by far the most useful and was essential for my studies. I also took the 9-week course and got a 750 on the GMAT.

Their sentence correction book was also excellent.

I also think the Manhattan GMAT study guides are good. I studied using only the books and got a competitive score on the GMAT.
