I'd like your site for excellent usability :cool

maybe it would be good to add math symbols shortcuts in post menu near "Smilies".
I propose to add:

²
³

±

"3n³+n²-√(n²-3) ≤ 4" looks better than "3n^3+n^2-sqrt(n^2-3) <= 4"

Thank you walker!

I am sorry I'm lagging in implementing your suggestions, I switched to part-time this week as I have some university work to do too.

Concerning math symbols, you really should check out

http://gmatclub.com/wiki/Help:Formulas

The support for those in the forum is coming soon via [ m ] [ / m] bbcode tag.

The symbols you list are available as:

\sqrt{x}
x^2
x^3
\ge
\le
\approx
\infty
\pm
\sum
\to

Hi walker, the [ m ] tag started working. Details are in [w]Help:Formulas[/w]. By the way, the [ w ] tag makes links to Wiki pages. Here's your expression rendered:

3n^3+n^2-\sqrt{n^2-3} \le 4

Let me know if there are issues.

There is no short answer; if you are interested in something specific, please let me know - maybe I will be able to answer and include a section on it in [w]Help:Formulas[/w].

As LaTeX is old and well documented, you can search for 'LaTeX' or 'LaTeX cheatsheet' to see some short examples; however, LaTeX is really about extension packages, so a definite dictionary is impossible. Even worse, mimeTeX supports only a subset.
