Hi all-

One quick question for you regarding the following essay question:

Please give an example when your thinking was different from others'

At my job I have improved some of the processes in place. One of them had been established about 2 years before I started my job. It had to do with how we reached out to some of our contacts and how we obtained the information(this information was hard to access before I got there). Working with the teams we used to go to I was finally granted access to their resources and I was able to set up a database that stored all this info. My team no longer had to waste time trying to find this info plus we no longer had to bother all these other teams every single time we needed some of this info(which could be up to twice a day and sometimes it was hard to get ahold of them).

Like I said no one else on my team thought about changing this, maybe because they were used to it or because they didn't want to work on it (It took me about to get the info and set up the user friendly tool). This affected my team and the relationship we had with these other tools since we only had to reach out to them as a last option. Do you think this answers this question? I know I am not being very detailed with the info but this gives you an idea of where i am going with this. Thanks!

Thanks Scott, well I did have to convince the engineering team to give me the access. I basically had to sell them on the idea by explaining how this database would decrease the number of times that we "bugged" them. I didn't think it was that big of a deal since every so often my job requires some convincing when working with the field engineers but now that you mention it I'll touch on this in the essay.
