MIT versus Wharton [#permalink] New post 20 Aug 2010, 17:56
Hi,

My Profile:

Undergrad : Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
WE : 10 years
Industry : Information Technology (Business Analysis, Project Management)
GMAT : 720 (Q:49, V:40)
GPA : First Class

I would like to work with a top consulting company, pursuing a career in IT strategy consulting... get to a CIO advisory level and then someday move on to become the CIO of a corporation.

Which school is the best fit for my dreams - Wharton or MIT ?

My tentative list of schools for R1 : HBS, Wharton, Kellogg, Tuck.
I am wondering whether I should replace Wharton with MIT.

Please share your thoughts.

I would go with MIT as they are more known as a computer school. What about Tepper CMU? They are a good IT/computer school as well.

Are you going to pursue another degree with your MBA if you are definitely doing IT?

Hi,

I've no plans to do a Joint Degree while pursuing my MBA. CMU Tepper is on my R2 list.

I would suggest you look into joint degree. It sort of separates you from the pack, and if you are set on going into the field, it will show you have solid career plans.
