multiple GMAT attempts [#permalink] New post 19 Apr 2004, 13:53
Hi Linda,

I am interested about how top 15 business schools view multiple GMAT attempts. I have taken the test twice. The first time I cancelled my score and the second time I did poorly. I hope to sit for it again and boost my score, but would like to know how adcoms view multiple gmat attempts. Do the average out or do they often take the better score?

Thanks..

They don't view multiple GMAT administration negatively, only low scores.

Almost all the top schools "take" the highest score, but they see the last three. If the scores go up, they don't pay a lot of attention to the earlier scores or discount the highest score.

When they go down, however, I can't help but believe that the highest score isn't quite as credible as when things go the other way around. I don't think the policy changes, but my guess is that the human interpretation is not identical.

Good luck!
