Hello,

I have a serious decision to make and need some advice.

I was accepted to all the programs I applied to and am now deciding between Northeastern and Simon both for masters in finance. I think both programs are solid, although Simon seems to be more reputable. Looking at the curriculum, I'm heavily favoring Simon - I'm looking for a more technical program (still doing corporate for both but the class titles look more serious at Simon, more mathematically demanding). Also, and this is huge, I have terrible work history (I am 28 yo and have 1 yr experience working in a university bio lab after graduation, 3 yrs self employment unrelated to finance, and 1 yr working an admin job for a small insurance company. I studied social science as an undergrad and have no marketable skill, which is why I am going back to school to study finance. All that said, Simon has an internship track...6 month paid internship. Northeastern does not. I am slightly nervous that if I matriculate at NEU, I will just have another degree+debt and have difficulty finding well paying employment.

So you must be asking 'well, if all that is true, then obv you should choose Simon?' However, my wife has a great job in Boston and she cannot relocate; so if I matriculate at Simon, I'll be away from her 5-6 days per week.

So, ultimately, my question is is Simon that much better than NEU (obv in terms of my future prospects, both short and long term)?

Hi. Both schools look quite good.
a. The Simon MSF seems a little better in structure.
b. The fee for the Simon MSF is almost twice that of the NEU one.

If you can afford it, go with Simon.

Cheers and Kudos.
