Part time MBA [#permalink] New post 25 Sep 2004, 17:47
Hi

I aim for Ann Arbor part time MBA.

I had taken GMAT and scored 630 (Q49, V27, AWA 5). My education and experience credentials are as follow:

Diploma(78%) - 1989

AMIE(53.5%) - 1993 (considered eqvt to BE in India)

Master of Engineering (7.8 CGPA - Anna Univ) - 1997 (University Third rank) - India

Mahindra - Senior Engineer (Design and Development) - 3 years - India

Visteon Corp - Product Design Engineer - Contract - 1 year - US

Mark IV automotive - Design Engineer - Contract - 1 year - US

Cosworth Technology INC - Permanent - 2+ years and continuing - US

I am bit worried about my GMAT score and my AMIE qualification(less % but it is difficult to score in professional exams like this which is known in India but how to let this admission committee people know).

1. Do you think my GMAT is sufficient for evening MBA?(ave is around 650)

2. Do you think my basic degree AMIE has any negative impact on my academic backround though I scored 89.2 percentile in GATE(Graduate Admisison Test for Engineers) and entered Anna Univ for doing Masters as a GATE qualified candidate in India?

3. As I have Masters, will university adcom take my UG GPA or PG GPA when it evaluates my application?

Please advice.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with this degree. Check with the schools you want to apply to and make sure that this degree plus your masters meets their requirements. It probably does, but you want to be sure.

Yes, your GMAT is competitive.

2. Do you think my basic degree AMIE has any negative impact on my academic backround though I scored 89.2 percentile in GATE(Graduate Admisison Test for Engineers) and entered Anna Univ for doing Masters as a GATE qualified candidate in India?
Sorry. I don't know enough about that degree to respond.
3. As I have Masters, will university adcom take my UG GPA or PG GPA when it evaluates my application?

They will consider both and your GMAT.

Please advice.

Thanks

Good luck!
