Hi,

I am regular visitor of this forum. I am in quandry regarding choosing Part Time MBA or Full Time MBA.

After completing my Bachelor in Electronics and Telecom, I came to US in 2001 to pursue MS in Telecommunications(2 year program at NJIT- Tier 2 School). While pursuing MS I started my internship with a IT services company as a project coordinator. The same company hired me as a Sales Engineer later. The experience involved technical sales to Fortune 500 companies. This experience has eventually helped me get a Business Development Manager's position with a reasonably big Indian IT services company.

Since past 2, I have been wanting to back-up my Sales experience with a strong MBA program, which gives me the confidence to position myself better in the job market. While better positioning for sales related positions is the minimum expectation from the MBA, I am interested in getting into Management Consulting. I am extremely interested in Chicago GSB or Kellogs to pursue MBA with specialization in Marketing + Management Strategy.

Although, I know that to achieve what I am expecting to get from MBA I should ensure my admission into the top 10 schools in US, I am now not sure whether I should join a Full Time MBA or a Part Time MBA.

I request the gurus in Management education to share some experience and insight.

Thanks for giving this insight. I have one more question. Is it possible for a Part Time student to switch into the Full Time program, in case one looses his or her job?

Although I know this question is school specific, I request you to give me your opinion based on experience.
