Personal Statement ?! [#permalink] New post 29 Sep 2004, 22:03
Linda/Hjort-

In reviewing my essays with one of my friends (a b-school grad) we got to discussing the "optional" essay seen at many schools (e.g. "If there is any additional information or situations you wish to tell the committee about please do so here").

My friend says that it is fairly standard to make this a "personal statement" about yourself - aka - a summary of who you are, your goals, values, direction, and overall persona.

I thought that the other essays within the application were meant to do this? I cant imagine that this essay would be used to reiterate and summarize what has already been told.......although I could be wrong.

What are your thoughts?
