(A) equally extensive or more so than ten years ago
(B) equal to or more extensive than ten years ago
(C) as extensive as ten years ago or more
(D) equal to, if not more, than ten years ago
(E) as extensive as it was ten years ago, if not more so
Please explain your thought process.
Dear Experts,
Please explain why option A is wrong and errors in others choices as well
Hi,
I do not find any choice CORRECT here..
(A) equally extensive or more so than ten years ago
Use of SO is wrong..
wrong comparison..use of pesticides to ten years ago.. requires "it was" before "ten years ago"..(B) equal to or more extensive than ten years ago
comparison problem as in A..
equal TO-- ? what(C) as extensive as ten years ago or more
wrong comparison as A..
OR MORE now modifies ten years rather than more extensive(D) equal to, if not more, than ten years ago
wrong comparison..use of pesticides to ten years ago.. requires "it was" before "ten years ago"..
changes meaning(E) as extensive as it was ten years ago, if not more so
grammatically BEST, but changes meaningIf there were no other option but to choose, I will choose E
are there any rules or tips to identify comparison errors as in Choise A here.
