PhD Profile Evaluation? [#permalink] New post 21 Nov 2011, 19:42
Hey Everyone,

I just started looking into PhD in finance programs and was wondering which programs would go well with my stats?

I am getting a bachelors in biochem and masters in financial engineering at the same time in 4 years. My undergrad GPA is 3.8 and grad is 3.98. GMAT is 700 (took it 2 years ago) and I'm an asian female from a top 40 undergrad school (so nothing amazing I guess).

I have three years of scientific research experience and was 4th author for a science paper that was published in a reputed journal. I have also been an undergrad TA for 1.5 years for science courses. I have tons of leadership and business-related internships as well. Which schools should I be shooting for? I want to apply to NYU, UCLA, Umich, etc...but I am not at all sure if my chances are even good there.

Any advice would be appreciated.

It depends on your area of interest. What do you plan to study? Which schools have a good research fit? While your GMAT, is on the low end for NYU and Michigan, it's within range for UCLA and your research experience will be a boost to your application.
