I would appreciate your input. what are my chances in getting in at smith UMD part-time? I have a BS degree from a top 40 school with a GPA of just under 3.2. My GMAT score is only a 560. My quart is below the 75%. I think I have excellent work experience. 2 years working for a professional sports franchise and currently a financial analyst for a well known bank in NYC. 3.5 total work experience as of now. Also, by the time I apply (fall2007) it is very likely I will have 2 promotions. I dont think I will have a problem getting above average reco's and writing solid essays. While I am considering retaking the exam I am not sure how much I can increase. Lets say i retake it and get a 580, is that really going to make a difference all other things being equal? One more thing is my background. I am of hispanic decent. Will that be of any relevance to admin's?

I am not terribly familiar with this program, but I reviewed the information provided on BW at https://www.businessweek.com/bschools/04 ... ryland.htm . I think you are close enought to the school's average GMAT to be considered seriously. It also had last year a 81% acceptance rate.
