Target Schools

I know that I have a weak GMAT score and I was looking at improving that. However, in my current role, I travel very often and that is not helping with the GMAT prep. I think one of the interesting things for me is that despite coming from a technical background, I was selected into vendor management which is a business role.

Please let me know your thoughts on whether my score will be sufficient for the schools that I am targeting or whether I must retake the GMAT.

Hi losaspirantes,

If you feel you can improve your score 40+ points, I recommend taking the GMAT again. The average GMAT score for INSEAD last year was 700, and for ISB it was 710. This may not seem like much of a difference, but you would be applying with a low percentile GMAT score.

The other important note is that the GMAT score is self-reported on your application, so business schools will only focus on your highest score. The only disadvantage to taking the test again is your time to study and the cost of the exam.

Here is a section with free GMAT prep advice:

Hope this was of help.
