Hi there,
I just took my GMAT recently (scored 700), and I want to get an idea if my current goals are within reason.
The only school I am really interested in is Haas/Berkeley, I will most likely have a couple of backups, but for the purpose of this eval., just say that I ONLY want to get into Haas.
Also, keep in mind that I won't be applying until 2008 (for the '09 school year).
- I am 24 yrs old. Graduated from UVA with BA in Economics, Finance Concentration
- I only have 1 full year work experience as a financial analyst for a large department store chain (retail).
- I quit my job last yr. Currently in Taiwan studying chinese.
- Currently working part-time as an English consultant for adults (business managers, a lot of different people in the workforce).
- I plan to get a full-time job overseas (hopefully in Taiwan) to get some overseas work experience before I apply. I am interested in the International Business Program at Haas.
BAD news
- My GPA from UVA was kind of bad (2.9)
- Lack of volunteer work since graduation.
- Well, of course there's been the last year in which I did not have a full-time job.
So, I know I will need to do some volunteer work. Umm..since I still have 2-3 years until application, is there anything else I should prepare? (Fortune favors the prepared, as they say).
And should I consider retaking my GMAT?
Thanks for any input.
