Hi..
Im santhosh,
I gave a GMAT on oct 26th :cry:
But my score was a total failure.. i panicked alot during my verbal session
my score was
Overall: 580 :cry: :cry: :cry:
Quants: 47 :) :)
Verbal: 23 :( :( :(

Working Experience:
Im working as an Senior Executive- Marketing in a well established firm from India.
im working from June 2011 till today. :| :|
I joined the company as an Junior Executive- Marketing. Last year during the companies second half yearly period i brought up new projects to the company and got a lot of new ideas and made a huge turnover for the company and also got the prestigious award from the company "The best employee of the year" award.
I brought up one of the most successful project named as "The known for the unknown" by TAHDCO and made a great success which everyone thought it would be a failure. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Academic:
School:
During my school i was the school 4th rank during my final public examinations
Cut-off Score: 259.25/300 :-D :-D :-D :-D
-> Was the school green house captain
-> Won 3rd prize in District level Quiz competition.
-> Won prize in Table Tennis. 8-) 8-)

College:
UG: BE. CSE
My GPA according to INDIAN system is 6.1/10 :x :x
->Won the "TCS Best project award of the year" for my successful project. :-D :-D :-D
->was the placement representative during my 3rd year.
-> was placement Co-ordinator during my final year.

So i would like to know wat kind of colleges can i be getting for this mark and profile though i will be re-writing the GMAT on Dec 2012 :? :? . Plz provide me so that I can apply to 1 or 2 colleges for my backup plan.

Your Strengths: Great work experience and some prestigious awards in the workplace. Involvement in extra-curricular activities. Strong GMAT quant score.
Weaknesses: Your GPA could have been better in college and you have some improvement to make in the verbal section of the GMAT.

Are you planning on retaking the GMAT? In my opinion you should definitely retake it in order to improve on the verbal section. The other plus side of retaking the GMAT is that a strong and balanced GMAT score can help compensate for a lower than desired college GPA.
I think that you will have a very strong profile if you were to retake the GMAT and get somewhere in the mid to upper 600's. At that point you could be considered a contender at a 10-25 ranked business school.

You have tons of potential. Keep your head up and best of luck. Let us know what you decide to do.

Thanku so much.. Yes, Im taking the GMAT again on nov 29th .. And i have booked it also.. :-D I will definitely repost about my new score aftr my exam gets over .. :) :)
