Hi Rohan,

Your academic accomplishments and extra curricular activities are impressive. You are extremely articulate about your future plans and goals. Also, you have done very good home work on the selection of schools. So I have nothing more to suggest on that count.

However, your GMAT score is average (quant is low) and the average score of most top schools is around 700( Ross-703, ISB-710, Cornell -691, Tepper 686). Also, the the average work experience for most top US schools is 4-5 years .

Rohan, you are only 24. You may easily wait for at least one more year before you apply. In order to strengthen your profile, you may want to acquire more work experience.

I hope it helped.

Thank you for your reply. It really helps.
I will be applying this year to try my luck :).
I have some doubts. Can you please clarify them.
Can my academic score compensate for my below average gmat score?
Can you suggest some good finance b-schools to which I have a chance to get in?
Also I have seen mixed reviews about Fordham. US News ranks it in top 20 for finance but the university is not ranked in business week. Can you give me some insight about it and whether it is worth applying there?

Thanks.

My view is that considering that your applicant pool is large, you should improve your score.
Also, your GMAT score could have worked if your verbal was higher. You already have something else to show you are good at quant. But at V31, I believe you should give it another try.
