Hello, please let me know what you think.
I am 25 years old (American-born/Indian Nationality), and been working at a large financial services firm (i.e. Morgan Stanley, Citi, JP Morgan) for 3 years as a Business Analyst in technology. After working for 2 years I was promoted to associate. I have coordinated a cross-functional team for a system conversion with a market value of $14 billion. I was then asked to join a top-notch global project, a huge initiative by the CIO of my division, which will greatly improve investment systems.
My GMAT score is a 700, but the first time I took it I got a 590. I have seen from many places that only your higher score counts.
My GPA is a low 2.9, but for a degree in Computer Science from Polytechnic University (Brooklyn, NY).
Stretch (for fun)
My major predicament right now is if I should pursue full-time or settle and go for part-time MBA. I feel with my low GPA, I don’t have a good chance of getting into NYU/Columbia. I am not too sure about Cornell/Duke either, since acceptances have been getting tougher. Furthermore, even if I did get into Duke, I am not sure if it’s worth it over Stern part-time (I rather stay in NY). I really don’t want to waste a year applying. If I don’t have a good shot, then I rather apply to part-time Stern. Please let me know what you think.
