Hi, I'm graduated from computer science with 3.84/4.0 and from business administration (as second major) with 3.85/4.0 gpa from a private university in Istanbul Turkey. My gmat score is 710. I do not have much work experience, I just did internship for three months at IBM. I am 25 years old and planning to apply to MBA programmes of Harvard, MIT, Columbia, Stanford and Cornell.

My first question is that am I competitive for those schools that I mentioned?

Secondly I am curious whether a master degree in MIS would be more valueble than MBA in near future.

Thanks beforehand.

TheCandidate,

I like everything about your profile except the work experience which seems too slight. Schools will wonder at this low work experience for someone your age. Your best bet of the 5 schools is Cornell. The other 4 are not feasible if your work experience is limited to an internship.

The MBA is the more versatile degree of the two, but the MIS would be the most helpful if you seek a technical role or middle-management role in a techology organization.

Good luck,
