Hello!

I am taking the GMAT in 9 days and am trying to figure out how important the AWA score will be for my profile. I am only applying to one school at this time and it is a program ranked in the mid 70's. I have scored a 680 on my last 2 GMAT Prep tests, but have not put a lot of time into AWA. The mean GMAT at the school I'm applying to is 550. Obviously a 680 would be more than sufficient in that regard, but I really want to score a 700 for the sense of accomplishment. I have been studying chineseburned's guide, but I have only done 2 essays at this point. Should I really focus on doing a lot more essay writing and forget the frivolity of the 700 or will scores of 4.0 or so be sufficient for my needs?

Thanks in advance! Kudos to all who reply!

If you memorize chineseburned's guide and are able to come up with potential examples on test day, you should be fine.

I wrote 3 essays on my practice tests and took the GMAT twice. Both times I received a 6.0 on AWA by following chineseburned's guide.
