I know nobody can give a concrete answer to the question "will i get accepted here?" but any comments on my chances based on the other profiles you might have encountered would be really helpful.
GMAT - 690 (Q-48 V-36)
TOEFL - 119/120
Edu. credentials -Mechanical Engineering grad from Tier-II school in India
GPA - ~3.4
Demographic - Indian Male
Industry - hmm... working for Retail company as a consultant between IT and Retail business directors
Work Exp. - 5+ years (2 - Project Lead and 3+ - consultant)
Leadership exp. - 5 years
Community service - Good (worked with mentally challenged kids, blood bank drives, part of company CSR, etc.)
International Expirence - Good (Professional capacity - worked with business and IT directors in countries like - Czech,Poland,Hungary, Turkey, UK, Slovakia, Netherlands & currently in Thailand)

so, on the whole am not strictly in the IT side of things but more like jack of all trades!

Schools planning to apply - LBS, Said, Kellogg, Emory & Kenan Flager

Post MBA - Short Term : Strategy & Consulting ; Long Term : Entreprenurship
Why MBA - Learn the skills which would help me move from IT dominated consulting profile to one which is more into coporate strategy and operations consulting.

so am I being... way to ambitious or can I take a realistic shot at these schools?
Please rate my schools choice as
(A) ambitious a.k.a - cant even think about it
(S) Stretch a.k.a - Can be possible if you present your case really well
(P) Pratical a.k.a - Stand a great chance if you just present your profile!

Thanks a million chaps! Really appreciate your time and effort!

For the field, your GMAT is a little below the market quote. That said, it isn't out of any school's 80% range and your community service sounds interesting relative to many (play that up) so I wouldn't rule anything out simply because you don't have a 750 GMAT. That said, you might want to resit the GMAT simply to get a 7-handle on it that matters to many of the Strategy houses.

LBS and Kellogg are a stretch whatever the weather, simply on background. Said I would look into to check it has a presence in what you want - it really seems to me that Internationals seem to value the Oxbridge MBA "brand" way more than UK and possibly European types.

My guess is that LBS and Kellogg are a stretch. SBS, Emory and KF are more likely, especially if you don't get grouped into the dreaded indian male IT applicant pool. If you present yourself well and your reasons for wanting to go to B-School are solid, I bet you are in a good position with most of these. When would you like to apply?
