Question for Kellogg student [#permalink] New post 11 Oct 2011, 21:26
Hello

A few of us on the Kellogg forum have a disagreement as to how to interpret the essay question-

Assume you are evaluating your application from the perspective of a student member of the Kellogg Admissions Committee. Why would you and your peers select you for admission, and what impact would you make as a member of the Kellogg community? (600 word limit).

I am of the opinion that both aspects, viz. why would you choose the candidate for admission and what impact would she have, are to be from the perspective of a student evaluator of the application. There are others that think that the two parts are to be separated - the first part handled as a student evaluating it, and the second part written as yourself.

It would be great if a current student who has written this essay can clarify this.

Thanks!

This question comes up every year, and whether you choose 1st or 3rd person, as well as the specific perspective, does not have any strict guideline. You basically want to convey what you would add as a potential member of the community.
